Gathered around Pierre Cocq-Amann, the trio is driven by an original project: to bring out of oblivion an instrument abandoned since the 30s: the C Melody Sax – a non-transposing saxophone with a range between alto and tenor. An almost untameable and unknown instrument that has rarely been so well exploited as in this trio.

Far from being an exercise in style for the discerning music lover, the trio from Lorraine offers us a modern, rich and powerfully evocative musical experience. The C-Melody, highlighted by a creative piano and inspired percussion, illustrates an original, energetic and melodious repertoire that sometimes winks at Kenny Garrett or E.S.T.

Winner of the Nancy Jazz Up! 2021, Back To C offers a program that stimulates the imagination and the body, so singular are the sensations released by the compositions. Ancient and electronic sounds intermingle with accuracy and the surprising colors of the group testify to a multiple heritage: jazz, world music or classical.

In 2022, Back To C released their first album Deeper on the 314 label, and it is this music that they offer you to listen to in concert.
