The first scenes of the film show Michal as a figure of the success of Poland of the 2000s. He doesn’t seem to lack anything: a beautiful woman, a newborn son, a huge apartment and his own successful company. He chooses an old friend, Janek, to be the godfather of his child and Janek comes to visit him a few days before the ceremony. During these few days, Michal’s dark past begins to emerge and all he has built in the past few years threatens to collapse. Will Janek accept to do Michal a favour that is difficult to ask anyone for, even your best friend?
