Theatre project in English for two actors devised and performed by Jolanta Juszkiewicz (Kropka Theatre – Poland) with Steve Karier (Fundamental A.s.b.l. – Luxembourg).

The production is an innovative account of Madame Maria Sklodowska Curie’s scientific accomplishments as well as her private and personal traits. Upon receiving her second Nobel Award in 1911 – dedicated strictly to her own achievements – Maria underlines the award’s inextricable link to the work produced in cooperation with her husband Pierre Curie. The leitmotiv of the project is taken from the Book of Genesis – It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.

It is the end of 1911, Paris, Maria has just returned from her trip to the Nobel Award ceremony in Stockholm. Recent issues related to a turbulent affair destroy her reputation to such an extent to drive her to the brink of death. While on retreat, through her subconscious, Maria travels back in time to her wedding day. Her companion on this illusory journey is an apparition of Pierre who has been dead since 1906.
